Accessibility Statement

The accessibility standard this website is designed to follow, the measures in place, its known limitations and how to report a problem.

This statement describes the website’s accessibility features and known limitations.

Scope

This statement applies to this website. It does not apply to product packaging, manuals or other documents supplied with a product.

Standard applied

This website is built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. The website has not undergone an independent accessibility audit. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the design target, rather than an independently verified conformance result.

Measures in place

Every page declares its language and carries a single main heading, a skip link to the main content, and a landmark structure that assistive technology can navigate. All images carry alternative text, and decorative images are marked so that screen readers pass over them. Every form field has an associated label, and the contact form describes each error next to the field it concerns.

Interactive elements are designed to keep a visible keyboard focus. Body text is designed to meet the AA contrast ratio against its background. Animation is reduced or stopped when the operating system requests reduced motion.

Known limitations

  • The site has not been tested end to end with every screen reader and browser combination.
  • Some secondary text, such as form placeholders and small notes, is lighter than the body text and may fall below the AA contrast ratio.
  • The banner on the home page advances automatically every six seconds. It pauses while the pointer is over it or it has keyboard focus, and it does not advance when reduced motion is requested. There is no separate pause button.
  • The icons on the Service & Support page are short looping animations. They play only while they are on screen, have no pause control, and do not play when reduced motion is requested.
  • The globe on the About page rotates automatically and has no pause control, and an animated sleigh occasionally crosses it. Both are turned off when reduced motion is requested. Turning the globe by hand requires a pointer; the location buttons listed with it move the globe to each location from the keyboard.
  • On the About page, the statistics panel stays in place for a short stretch of scrolling while the year advances. The arrow buttons next to the year move between years.
  • The search button in the site header is not yet functional; a Chinese-language version of the site is in preparation.
  • Typefaces are loaded from an external font service. Where those files are blocked, the page falls back to system fonts and remains readable.
